Franklin broadcast, Anna podcast
My weekly radio broadcast, “Crazy Words, Crazy Tune,” is an endless source of pleasure for me (and my handful of fans!). This past week I did one of my best-ever specials–a timely piece from nine decades ago, if you know what I mean, about the banking crisis of early 1933. The Great Depression truly “hit the fan” in the few days leading up to Franklin Roosevelt’s inauguration on March 4 of that year–four long months after he’d been elected. That also happens to have been the week when the Reichstag in Berlin went up in flames, with grave consequences. I played some nice music and historic audio clips while narrating these events in detail. I had a difficult time deciding on a title for this episode, and finally settled on: “I want to talk for a few minutes about banking.” You can listen right here!
I was also proud to play the latest episode of the “When Humanists Attack!!” podcast on WRFI Community Radio following my show. My guest on that episode, New York State Assemblymember Anna Kelles, is a public health researcher and a rising superstar in Albany. We had a really nice conversation quite different from the dense policy talk you get in most news interviews. Hear it on RSS, Spotify, and other podcast platforms.
